GREEN BUILDING
Building "green" is a philosophy that means different things to different people. It can include proper site planning to geothermal heating and cooling to incorporating alternative energy sources. Our view is that building "green" means making an economic decision on the best way to decrease a home's overall environmental impact.
We are a member of Green Built North Texas.
Proper Site Planning
One of the best ways to be green is to lower overall energy consumption. Proper site planning is key. By utilizing existing mature trees and minimizing windows that face the hot afternoon sun, the overall energy consumption of a home is greatly reduced.
Using Sustainable, Recycled Materials
Where possible, we use recycled building materials, including cellulose insulation, decking, sheathing, carpet and counters.
Water Conservation
Through proper landscape planning and utilization of water-conserving appliances and fixtures, water usage is decreased and plant materials live longer.
Indoor Air Quality
We help to improve the indoor air quality of your home through the use of a central vacuum system, properly sealed ducts, fresh-air intakes and low VOC paints.
