ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Our approach to building is very hands-on. No element goes without discussion. The clean lines of our homes leave no place to make a mistake. Michael Turner is on the job site each and every day. He ensures that the job gets done right the first time. This hands-on approach has become rare today. Thirty-five years of experience in

the business gives Michael an invaluable edge. His extensive know-how means the job moves quickly and costly mistakes are avoided. We use subcontractors with whom we have had long relationships to ensure consistency and quality. They know what is expected and take pride in doing it right. We wouldn't do it any other way. Always striving to stay a step ahead, we not only look for aesthetic products to complement each space but also specify products that are durable and low-maintenance.

DURABILITY

We build low-maintenance homes and carefully research and select building materials that endure.  We design homes that adapt to today's rapidly changing lifestyles. Our homes feature inviting, multifunctional spaces that incorporate simple yet striking architecture.
We eliminate guesswork by planning all the major systems in the home. From the trusses to the foundation, all critical systems are designed with permanence in mind. We never cut corners by making a cheap choice

to save a few dollars. Just to make sure we don't miss anything; we employ a professional third-party inspection firm to document all the major building stages. One of the most overlooked issues in constructing a durable house is providing a weatherproof environment. All our homes have extensive moisture barriers and waterproofing, all windows have Low-E glass to keep out harmful UV rays, and anything that permeates the house skin is flashed, taped and sealed. Every house is individual. The design team strives to match that individuality with its product selections. The team looks for the ideal match of design, form and function. The builder specifies lasting products and systems available in the marketplace. The strength of your house is matched by the strength of our company. Classic Urban Homes meticulously manages its business practices and stands behind its product.

energy EFFICIENCY & Green Building

Building green is a philosophy that means different things to different people. A common misconception is that energy-efficient construction is expensive. In reality, the basics of energy-efficient building are low cost, sometimes even cost-saving, and can have long-term substantial benefits.  Some people call this green building, we just call it smarter.

Classic Urban Homes believes in a "whole house" approach to building. Your home is more than just the sum of its parts. It is the interaction of all the parts of the home, from its systems to equipment, its occupants, and the structure that make the home energy efficient.  When building, we incorporate resource efficiency and environmental considerations into every step of the home building process.

With energy costs rising, the implementation of efficient design is paramount.  Proper site planning is where we start, from the way the house will sit on the lot to the location of the windows - trying to capture the morning sun and avoiding harsh afternoon heat. The principal energy expenditure is in lighting a house. From heat and pure energy-consumption standpoint, proper lighting plans allow us to reduce electricity costs.

Classic Urban Homes is proud to offer new homes that have earned GREEN BUILT TEXAS (GBT) certification.  GBT qualified new homes are substantially more energy-efficient than homes built to the minimum code requirements. Our GBT qualified new homes are independently verified by a third-party Home Energy Rater to ensure they meet GBT energy efficiency guidelines. These homes are better for the environment and better for you.

WARRANTY

Classic Urban Homes believes a home warranty is a crucial component in the new home building process.  We provide an express home warranty that covers the home for up to ten full years. Our home warranty is a clearly written document that, prior to the homeowner occupying the home for the first time, is reviewed with the builder so the homeowner understands his or her role and obligations as well as that of the builder.

When choosing your builder, it is critical for homeowners to ask for names of previous homeowners to determine the long-term quality of the builder‘s product. At Classic Urban Homes, we eagerly hand out a list of our homeowners and even our trade sub-contractors, many of which we‘ve worked with for over 30 years. We encourage prospective clients to call each and every one of them.
